Courtney has been on Pulling the Thread a few times—I’ll link all our episodes and everything else below. But for those of you who haven’t heard from Courtney yet, she’s an incredible coach, group facilitator, and Enneagram expert. She essentially works with people to help them achieve the change they want in their lives, while simultaneously bringing some understanding and compassion to who they are right now. Courtney’s been doing this work for a long time but has been flying under the radar. She finally launched a Substack called What We’re Really Up To.
Anyways, today we start with the backstory of how we met, how we came to be collaborators, and how we formed the core process in our workbook Choosing Wholeness Over Goodness, which is a companion to On Our Best Behavior. We take you through each of the seven tools in this core process. They’re essentially about understanding the stories we’ve unconsciously committed to—particularly around what it means to be a good woman. And then exploring those stories to see whether they are actually serving us or not. For the stories we’ve outgrown, we can honor them for all they’ve done for us, and then use a tool to create something new that allows us to be more whole, more intentional in moving toward what we really want now.
Some of this work can get pretty deep, but actually the last three tools in the process are designed to be quite fun and playful. As Courtney says, they’re about reinjecting some compassion, empowerment, and lightness into our lives. So that we don’t get stuck in seriousness—and so that we can break through.
We hope you have some fun with it all, too.
