Ellen Vora is a board-certified psychiatrist who takes a functional medicine approach to mental health. She’s the author of The Anatomy of Anxiety and a new book called Season of the Witch: A Psychiatrist’s Case for Magic.

The last time Ellen was on Pulling the Thread, we were mostly talking about anxiety—and I’ll link that conversation below.

Today, we start by talking about how we met each other in college, what it meant to be a “chill girl,” what Ellen’s path looked like back then, and how it changed when she had an awakening of sorts.

We talk about one of my obsessions—the theory behind how the left and the right hemispheres of the brain work together.

But mostly we talk about why and how Ellen is helping people to reconnect to their own intuition and keep themselves intact, in alignment, and open to what might bring you—personally—great joy, meaning, and intrigue.

EPISODE TRANSCRIPT:

ELLEN:

All right. Okay. Shall we pray? The last housekeeping.

ELISE:

You want to pray?

ELLEN:

I do.

ELISE:

Okay, let's do it.

ELLEN:

So I just ask that from a place of gratitude and reverence for source to work through us, to move through us and to let us be in service of everyone's highest and greatest. And so it is.

ELISE:

And so it is, that's beautiful. Do you do that before every podcast?
