Laura Lynne Jackson is perhaps the most renowned psychic medium of our times. She is an incredible teacher, and she’s shown so many of us how to develop and hone our own intuition and psychic abilities. I’ve learned so much from Laura about receiving messages from the universe, and from the other side. And as I’ve talked and written about before, it was Laura who helped me to first connect with my brother-in-law Peter after he died. And that has completely changed my life.
Laura has written two New York Times bestselling books, which many of you will be familiar with. There’s Signs and The Light Between Us. And now, she has a new book, just out, called Guided: The Secret Path to an Illuminated Life.
Today, we talk about how each of us can use our own intuition, and messages from our teams of light, as Laura calls them, to live a more meaningful, connected, and—honestly—fun life.

ELISE:
Alright, so it has been thrilling to see signs sitting on that New York Times bestseller list again with the most incredible red Lego story, that viral TikTok moment and all of your work, and I love that Guided is in some ways a continuation of this same theme, but it just feels like more and more people are starting to understand that you can establish a language with both the universe and with people on the other side. Let’s start with guided and the continuation of this idea is it the people who were fans of yours and fans of signs needed a more structured way of continuing to decode what was coming to them? Is this the natural next step?
LAURA:
It’s really interesting because when I started this journey and I got my first download that I was going to write my first book, they never told me I was going to write more than one and I think that our teams of light on the other side always dream bigger for us than we dream for ourselves and they always have a divine plan and sometimes I think they reveal it to us step by step by step because to be honest with you, if I had sat on my hall duty as a high school English teacher that day and gotten a download, not just that I was going to write one book, but that I’d be writing three books, I probably would’ve felt so overwhelmed and so confused as to what are these books about? Because all I got was my download for the first book, which was you need to share your journey, tell your truth because it applies to all of us and share the beautiful lesson you’ve learned along the way.
And so that’s what my first book was about, my journey into understanding my own abilities, how they’re not just a truth for me, but they’re a truth for us all. I got to download for my second book Signs and the download I got was okay. The first book was telling people about the fact that this is true and it’s true for us all, but the second book is like Enough about me, this is about you and this is about how to create a language of connection with your team of light on the other side so that you can establish that knowing and that trust and develop that relationship more and be open to it and feel your loved ones around you. Guided is really about what we do from there, now that we know this is true, now that we have established a new language with our team of light on the other side, which I see as God energy, this force of love that’s part of us all and guides us and spirit guides which are advanced angelic beings who our souls contracted with before we came here to Earth school, nobody knew this lifetime, just these advanced angelic beings and the third part of our team of light, which is our loved ones who have crossed pets included ancestors included.
Once we have this language with them, how can we use it as a tool to help us on our journeys here? If you are here on Earth school right now, the truth is you matter greatly to the great fabric of light and connectivity between all of us and the choices we make on our own paths. They don’t just affect our journeys here, they affect countless other people’s journeys. Often people we might not even meet or even be aware that we’re influencing in positive ways. So guided is really about opening fully to that language, trusting it, understanding that it’s real and really using it as a tool to get on our highest path because when we get on our highest path, we affect our journeys in positive ways and we impact others as well.
ELISE:
I love as always with your work, I just love reading people’s stories and guided is no different. The stories that you tell in the book about people who either found their way to you, that story about Disney World, I don’t want to spoil it for people, but that was a wild opening story about all the circumstances that aligned with that specific situation. Anyway, point is that there are so many fun stories in the book that where we’re put in contact, as you just said, with people who are going to change our whole experience of life and maybe we all become more psychic as we start doing this work and leaning into establishing communication with the universe, whether it’s through consulting things like the I Ching or setting up signs with our loved ones, but I find not that life needs to be more exciting, Laura, I’d say we’re living in as the Chinese would say, very interesting times, but I find it so much more fun to be in constant communication with me. It’s Peter, but it’s just a general idea of the universe and then watching events conspire to align or not align and put the pieces together and to pay attention really adds an element of intrigue. I don’t know if that’s the right word, excitement, interest. It’s just way more fun. Magic. Yeah, magic, magic, exactly. Yeah, way more fun to wonder what something means.
LAURA:
Yeah. I think that the truth is we all have this amazing team of light waiting to help us at our disposal, and if we just open our minds and our hearts to trusting that knowing that life really does turn magical, it becomes more meaningful, you start to recognize the fact that we all have a very myopic view of things here. We cannot see the big picture and we can’t always understand our role. But I think once we trust in that magic, that magic of connectivity, the magic of the fact that we’re all here learning this collective lesson in love and that each and every one of us matter so greatly and are playing such an important role. And once we also understand the fact that every thought we have puts either more lightness or more darkness into the world, it becomes really a powerful experience just to wake up every day and recognize that we have the power to set our intention and also give our attention to things that are positive to be kind to ourselves and our own self-talk.
It’s just this really beautiful circle of light that’s going on at all times. And it’s true once you open to this ideology, once you really trust in it, your world transforms a lot of times too, even having that knowing we reflect on things in our past, maybe things in our path that’s already taken place that we maybe look at as a failure or we might look back 10 years ago and think, oh, for those four years I was wasting my time or I was stuck in this dead job or I was stuck in this dead end relationship only to realize that when we opened to the guidance, we were actually learning really powerful lessons for our own souls or maybe we were a catalyst in someone else’s journey. What we learned to recognize is that no time here on earth is ever wasted. And I think when we come to relationships we have with the people who we love who have crossed don’t end when they physically leave their bodies but continue and get stronger and we can make them more rich with forgiveness and love and certainly with their guidance, I think really our life becomes magical and we start to look at it as this kind of sacred gift being here on earth school right now.
If you’re here, you’re right where you should be and you matter greatly. And I think knowing that is so important because in today’s day and age it’s so easy to feel this disconnect and I think this is so important to recalibrate or reset ourselves by understanding how divine a role each one of us plays here in the universe.
ELISE:
That’s beautiful. I think too, you call it earth school. I like that frame and I refer to it in this way. There’s just something about positioning yourself to life where you see everything that’s happening to you as potentially happening for you in some way, even though it’s really difficult to accept that. And I don’t mean that with a toxically positive or Pollyanna-ish spin. There are a lot of things that happen to us that we would not choose and you can either sort of feel victimized by life and that’s different. I’m not talking about real victims or you can modify the way that you respond to it and just try and stay in a place of curiosity about what is unfolding for me? What is my role to play in this? Why am I having this experience? What can I learn? What can I bring forward?
And I think about this all the time. I was just talking to Jen, our mutual friend, dear friend Jen Walsh the other day, and I was expressing irritation that I had put up a huge warning sign about a situation for people and been like, don’t do this. Stay away from this. This is bad news not for you quicksand here, do not approach. And then I’ve just watched various people just not pay attention to me and just go right into the pit. And I was like, I don’t understand. I couldn’t be more clear. And she was like, honey, in her Jen Walsh way, she was like, do you not understand that people have to live these experiences for themselves? People need to experience it in order to understand it. So you telling them or warning them off an experience, it’s never going to be embodied. I was like, right, even thinking in the context of what you’re talking about and guided, because I’m sure some people are like, why does it have to be this game of charades? Why can’t it be more direct? Why is it so hard? I think the point is it has to be an active engagement. It has to be a puzzle that you figure out and interpret, and it’s not supposed to be a clear set of directions because that takes away the whole point of earth school, right? It’s like a syllabus maybe, but it’s not necessarily a study guide.
LAURA:
Well, I think that anything we receive that comes from our team of light is always on our highest path to here. I know that when I’ve done readings, sometimes I’ll be blocked from getting certain information for a person I’m reading for. That happens in my own life too. I’ll get a lot of divine guidance from my own team of life. But every now and then they’ll say like, Nope, can’t tell you more than this right now. And I’ll always respect that because what I know is that everything that I receive is in my highest path to hear sometimes it is to prepare me for something that’s going to occur. Sometimes it’s because we can avoid a certain situation, and I do think a lot of times the guidance we get from our team of light, if it’s a situation where we can avoid it, we’ll get it pretty clearly.
We might receive a dream in nature or a dream visitation from somebody we love that’s warning us against it, or we might have that insight within ourselves to have a sense that we’re about to come across a crossroads in our own path. And we might say to our team of light, look, please guide me in this. Every choice we make only comes down to two paths. Fear path, love path. That’s it. And the fear path is us saying, oh, I’m not going to make this change. What if x, y, or Z does or doesn’t happen? Or maybe a change happens to us and instead of being open to that change and know it’s happening for us, we get very angry and we get stuck in that bitterness. And that’s the fear path, right? The love path is saying to ourselves, okay, what is the universe guiding me towards?
What is open to me if I’m a little fearful to make this change? Do I have this intuitive sense that I should still make it or maybe this change happened to me, but I need to open my heart and mind to recognize that even though I can’t see it right now, I am being guided. I’m going to be guided to a better career or a better relationship or whatever that might be, whether it’s a better relationship with yourself, with others, with a romantic partner. I do think we can get very direct guidance sometimes, and I think if you’re getting guidance that is not so concrete and so direct, sometimes it is just our team of light letting us know I am right here with you. I love you, I support you and I’m going to walk on this journey with you. But it’s the equivalent of thinking if we have children, we might get them SAT tutors, we might create a space for them to study.
They get plenty of sleep and a great breakfast before the exam, but we can’t go in there and take that exam for them. That’s cheating. And I think our team of light and our spirit guides are very much like that. They can do certain things for us, but when it comes to the decisions, these freewill choices, we need to experience that. In fact, our souls want to experience that. So what you’re sharing about having this foresight, a lot of times when we’re very psychic or intuitive, we’ll have a sense of things for people we’re close to, whether they’re our family or friends. In fact, if you’ve been known as giving really good advice to your friends or your family, that’s a huge green flag that you are super connected and very psychic in what I call a clear cognizant way, meaning you have this clear knowing what’s going to occur for them or you can kind of clearly feel the energy around it.
So I think whenever we get downloads, we’re meant to share them, certainly if they’re friends for us, but we have to hold that space to know that their soul might need to experience it by learning what I call the hard way. Now, I want to say too, there’s no harm or foul because every experience we have here is so helpful to our souls. It’s multifaceted in different ways. So if you learn the hard way, you still learn it. If you learn the easy way, you’ve mastered it and learned it great. I think it’s where we’re at in our own energy and how we open we are to the messaging and really what is the most divine thing for our soul to experience? Guidance comes in all forms. People ask for signs and decision for us when what we really should be saying is send me an orange elephant just to let me know you’re with me and that you’re going to help me choose my highest path and you’re going to walk with me as I experience whatever my soul is meant to experience here. I think that can really be one of the most powerful moments we have connecting to our team of light.
ELISE:
One of the things that I love about you and the top notch psychic medium intuitives that I know is that so much of your messaging is you don’t need me. I know how wonderful. I mean, we all would like to have you on speed dial, Laura. Although I will say as someone who does have you on speed dial, I really try to not abuse that because your message, which I think is incredibly valuable is not to commit Oracle abuse and to not dial a psychic every time you need to make a decision, but to lean into your own ability to intuit and discern the way forward, right? This is not about building dependency. If anything, you are pushing so vehemently against that, stop outsourcing your Earth School curriculum to other people and start trying to figure this out yourself. Yeah,
LAURA:
At absolutely. And I will say that most of the time the information I’m bringing through for the person when it comes to decisions or choices on their path, they already knew that it’s just validating them. So it’s building their trust in their own intuition or their own selves. But this is a truth that belongs to us all. Nobody ever needs a psychic medium to connect to their team of lights. People will message me and they’ll say, I read signs and I got really, I didn’t want to try it because I was so afraid I was going to ask for a sign and not get it and feel so alone. So I waited weeks, but then I finally decided I was going to ask for this and I asked for this crazy sign and I got it, and then they share the story with me. And the thing that I always get the most excited about is people can listen to me, share my experiences, and they can open to that and they can open their minds to that.
But in order to truly own this truth for yourself, we each need to have our own direct experiences of asking for signs and receiving it, of maybe having dream visitations with our loved ones on the other side and embracing that or whatever way we’re communicating or connecting, we need to own that truth for ourselves. And the only way to own that is to experience it directly. So why while going to a psychic medium or of course opening our listenings to intuitives or psychics or going to workshops and reading books, that all opens you up. But what it really is doing is it’s creating space within each of ourselves to be in a state of connection that we always find our highest path, and even when we go through dark times, we can feel and know that we are fully loved and fully supported and never alone. And I think that makes a profound difference.
ELISE:
Laura, this might be a hard pass from you, but do you have any, obviously we’re going through a time on this planet, not just here in the United States of extreme transition. I’m not sure the death of something and the birth of something new. Do you get guidance on a macro level or is it only really ever about how best to maneuver yourself through what’s unfolding? Or do you have perspective on what’s happening?
LAURA:
I’m always in a state of openness and I’m always asking questions, and I’m always in a state of being a student with my team of light on the other side. So yes, I do get information on a macro level, on a global level, and it’s very reassuring to my heart. I have to tell you because I think sometimes when we think we’re in the darkest times, we’re actually in times of profound transformation where the darkness is so full of light, it’s just that we have to adjust our eyes to see that. I asked the question to my team of light a year or two ago. I said, what do I do here? How can I most be of service in this world? How can we all most be of service to each other? How can we bring about shift and change and positivity? How can we create a currency of kindness and love and forgiveness and empathy and all these things?
And I got such a clear answer and it was so very interesting to me. The answer I got was, we are all meant not to hyper fixate on the darkness, not to get our minds locked in these loops of despair and the pain and how horrible it is. What we’re meant to do is we’re meant to shine our own light in whatever little area, whatever little garden of the earth we’re in right now, and it can start with very small things. And I think so many of us right now, Elise, we’re so exhausted spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally, all of these things where we feel like my well is dry, what do I have to give right now? And you know what? My guide showed me this. If you’re feeling that way, you can still smile at a stranger. If all you have to give on one particular day is to smile at someone or pay a compliment to someone, do it.
Because what you’re doing is you’re shifting out of the darkness into the light. We’re shifting out of the negative into the positive, and I was just listening to something by Dr. Jane Goodall who just recently crossed and she was saying how it is so important. Just attend the area you’re in to do good, start where you are and watch how it increases. But I think that’s truly the best we can all do is tend our gardens with light, so tend the area we are in, be kind to whoever crosses our path, whoever we have the opportunity to be kind for, and ask your team of light for guidance. Tell them to give you a download of what you are meant to do right now in the here and now to be a catalyst of light. We all have the power to be what I call lightworkers, and a lightworker is somebody who finds their own unique gifts that each of us came programmed with, honor them, share them with others, and also adopt the mindset that true power isn’t having power over others, right? It’s not about being envied or being able to buy this and they can’t or being able to do X, y, or Z because of what we see as our power. True power is helping others recognize the gifts and the light they have, bringing that out of them and helping them rise. It’s that concept of all ships rise at the tide. It’s this mindset we can open to, and I think when we do, we transform not just our own energetic spiritual paths here, but the path and the lives of others.
ELISE:
No, that’s beautiful. And I agree. Emotions, feelings are so contagious and in these moments, the inclination obviously fear is maybe the most contagious. It is what keeps us alive, and so the more that we can mindfully turn down the fierce spigot or just turn down the volume and try to power some of those lighter energies, it helps. It really helps. I also think that when in this moment when we feel so far apart, so far away from each other, we’re really obviously struggling to understand people. I’m not talking about on the other side of the veil, I’m talking on the other side of all of our cultural divisions. Obviously the instinct is to polarize or distance more, and instead it’s like, no, no, no. Can we get closer to each other? Can we, I guess reach for curiosity and understanding even when it makes no sense?
But that’s kind of our only hope, and I think that similarly what you’re talking about in this concept of Jane Goodall and tending to the garden that you can reach is that it’s these small seemingly inconsequential actions that we each take in our life that are the antidote, the immune system. And I was listening to this guy talk recently who was amazing. His name is Patrick Connor, and he was saying, and I feel this deeply and I’m curious if you also see it this way. He was talking about that the presence of so much darkness and the presence of so much shadow, while yes, it seems scary, but that it’s also only happening because there is so much light and there’s so much consciousness and there’s so much capacity on behalf of all of us to actually integrate the shadow and process and metabolize it and that it would not be happening if we weren’t capable of attending to it and being with it. I don’t know. I found that really comforting that only now do we have the collective capacity or that there are enough people who are bringing kindness and trying to be light holders or light bearers or whatever it is that you recall them, that only now are some of these really old intergenerational ancestral shadow blobs able to come up because we have the capacity. It doesn’t feel like that, right? It feels apocalyptic, but I like his point of view.
LAURA:
It doesn’t feel apocalyptic to me. We cannot ignore the darkness. We actually have to understand it first. We have to really sit with it, understand where that’s coming from, and I’m going to tell you right now what my team of light has told me. It comes from fear. Everything here is a path of fear or love. And fear can play out in a lot of different ways that’s different than me. I’m fearful what will happen if that occurs. I feel that I’m losing a sense of power. And a lot of times when that’s a fear path, it’s false power to begin with, right? It’s power over someone or being better than someone or whatever that might be. But we cannot reconcile with the dark until we understand. And I think that’s a big mistake we’re making here too. We’re just going at each other or we’re on different sides of the spectrum and we think, I don’t even want to know you or listen to you because you’re so different than me and your heart is so different than me.
And I think we really need to find a place of empathy for one another where we understand that we’re all on these spiritual journeys and sometimes it’s a bit of a struggle to figure out what the light is and what the darkness is and what that is. When I wrote guided, when I got the download for it, it was very interesting to me because I also got vivid image download for what the cover was meant to be. And what they showed me was kind of like darkness all around, almost like jungle type of energy in this and then this clear almost like river path of light and that this was what our team of light was going to help us with to help us find that path of light through the darkness. And I really do feel that in a very symbolic way, we’re in that collectively in a global sense right now.
It is so dark. Things seem so dark, there’s so much in that jungle of darkness, but within each of us is that ability to find that path of light. But I promise you that you’re never going to find your highest path by embracing things with hatred, with vehement, with a sense of disgust for others. I think we need to come from a place of compassion, but I also think we need to hold true to our convictions and not be apologetic for them. I think there’s a really big difference between engaging with negativity by sending more negativity towards it versus holding our own light and very calmly and truthfully tending our own gardens and trusting that when we stay true to what our truths are, and we calmly keep putting that out into the world, not in a combative way, just in an absolute almost boundary way. We can create paths of light for other people or we can maybe help other people see that maybe they were on a path of darkness. Maybe they were on this path of fear and maybe they were actually lost in the jungle of all those emotions and confusion, but now they can shift and see. It can be really, really powerful.
ELISE:
This is a weird thing for me to do, but while you were speaking, I looked up a Bible verse and just because we’re talking about gardening and to paraphrase my understanding of the parable, this is the parable of the weeds. It’s in Matthew. Jesus told them another parable, the kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field, but while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went away when the wheat sprouted and formed heads and the weeds also appeared. And essentially someone asked Jesus, can’t we pull out the weeds? And he is like, no, no, no, you need to wait. You don’t know what’s what. And I’m only mentioning it, which is again random because I think that in this moment too, you talked about the darkness being full of so much light, we don’t know what’s what, right? And I think we approach so many of these situations in our lives with so much certainty about this is the righteous path and this is the wrong path, and this person is right and this is wrong. And I think anyone who’s lived for more than a decade or two understands that the thing that you thought was so wonderful can turn out to be the weed and vice versa. And that part of it is tending, watching, waiting, and understanding that we don’t know.
LAURA:
It’s so true. What I think you’re also describing is the way I was raised by both of my parents who were both teachers or to be a critical thinker in the world. And a critical thinker doesn’t just listen to something that someone says and just buy it, hook, line, and sinker or see something and jump on that bandwagon. But you hold space within to always be on a journey of exploration and learning. And so part of that journey might be thinking one particular way and then slowly over time coming to realize, wait a minute, that actually was a little limited thinking of me, or I wasn’t quite seeing it in the right way. I’m going to shift now and I’m going to choose something different. And I think so many of us get stuck in, this is my mindset, I’m going to stick with it.
It has to be right. When I used to take philosophy classes as an undergrad, I remember learning that you could never philosophically use the absolute statement like this is absolutely all the time, because it was a fallacy of logic. It just can’t be true. And I think we have to create space within us to say, this is what I’m thinking right now. I could be wrong about it. I’m going to continue to explore. I’m going to ask my team of light to guide me to the people, to the books, to the conversations, to the situations I am meant to experience, to find my truth, to be of service to humanity, to choose love over fear. I’m going to trust in that guidance, and I’m going to know every day when I wake up, I’m on that exploration. But I think when we return to this concept of being guided by a God that is loving, we have to adhere to asking ourselves in every moment, is this the most loving choice or is this coming from a place of maybe fear or feeling that I don’t understand it? So it’s confusing me. I think we really need to challenge ourselves to be better and better. I think so many times here on our school, we get stuck in this idea of competing with each other. We’re in this competition and also dearth mentality. There’s not enough of everything we have to compete. And I have to get at first kind of the game of musical chairs that kids play, push somebody out of the way, get the chair. There’s not enough. It’s the worst game ever if you ask me.
ELISE:
I agree, it’s kind of sick.
LAURA:
But I think, yeah, we need to open the idea that the only person we are ever in competition with is ourselves, right? That’s it. We’re just competing with ourselves to be more open, more knowledgeable, more loving. And I do think once you have been on this earth for a while, you do gain some wisdom almost with a little chuckle at times, going, oh wow, that thing I thought when I was 22. Wow, was I off with that? But to understand that, to create empathy, to gain wisdom, I’m so thankful I had that experience and I see it differently now. I think being reflective is a really important trait that a lot of us skip. When I used to teach high school English at the end of the year, I would give an assignments that my students would groan over, and it was like, let’s be reflective.
Let’s look back on all the literature you’ve read this year, the essays you were asked to write about, your own feelings about your engagement with the world and reflect on how you’ve grown. And there’d be grumbles. But then by the end, they would turn in these portfolios that would make me cry. They were so deep in meaning and understanding, and a lot of times the students would write, I didn’t realize this till creating this portfolio and doing this reflection that this is how I changed, or this is how reading this book affected my way of thinking and my life and my path ahead. And I think so many of us missed that step. And I think one of the greatest things we could do is maybe start journaling. Maybe we hear our inner voices, maybe we a automatically reflect a little bit more. Then if we’re not clear within ourselves, if we’re not authentic versions of ourselves, if we are not open to our own development, how can we be authentic with others? How can we be bringing the best version of ourselves to this world? So I think that’s another important step besides tending the garden that’s in front of you, tending the garden that’s within as well.
ELISE:
I think that one of the things that’s quietly revolutionary about what you’re offering is so many of us have lost some sort of connection with ourselves. We’ve been gaslit by culture or by each other, and we don’t really necessarily have an internal framework for saying, oh, I feel this is true, or this is a yes for me, right? We are so externally oriented in terms of how we are moving through our lives in a search and trying to find relief from fear and searching for approval or searching for safety or security or the right next thing that’s going to keep us alive. And what I think is so powerful about what you’re offering in guided and in your work in general is you already know. And there’s a way to start conferring with the universe to reconfirm or reacquaint yourself with that internal GPS, which is going to be your trusties guide, staying close to yourself, staying close to your own integrity, using that as a ballast against a world that does feel quite scary.
I think it’s an essential medicine, even though it feels sometimes fun or light or whatever, but it’s no actually, how are you going to get back into yourself to orient to the world and to keep that seat in your own heart? And to that end, I mean even this idea of this is a frame that I use all the time. I was giving advice to a friend the other day and I was like, is this choice that you’re making? Is it out of fear or is it out of your heart? Is this what you actually want or is it out of fear? And she was like, oh, I hadn’t thought about that. And I was like, that’s the question, right? Is that the higher path that the other side is helping us to
LAURA:
Always, always the highest path will always be, not the fear one, it will always be the loved one. I think sometimes it can take us a moment to sit with ourselves to recognize which one is the fear path, because sometimes fear we can mask or gaslights ourselves into thinking is the love path. When our higher self, our inner compass as you put it, our ability to connect and be guided is telling us a very different truth. But we have to sit quiet. I think so many of us fail to sit quiet. We’re inundated with so much cacophony of noise and energy from the outside world. And then when we do have quiet moments, what do we do? We start scrolling social media and we do all sorts of things. So it’s really important to have a moment to be reflective where we’re not being run by our emotions, but by something much more deeper and light filled than that.
ELISE:
Well, I love any opportunity to chat with Laura Lynn Jackson on the mic. You have likely heard her on pulling the thread before. I will link to that episode, as well as the various Substacks in which I’ve written about her. She’s also a big part of on our Best behavior, because she’s a big part of my life, I write about my experience with her and the chapter on sadness and the very weird talk about being guided. I was definitely guided to Laura Lynne Jackson through a series of synchronicities that were positively insane and truly like anytime something weird is happening in my life, there’s typically a thread to Laura, not the creator of the weirdness, but invariably I will hear from her or something will happen, which will just be a nod again to our discussion that we had today, which is that if you choose to see yourself in conversation with, it doesn’t really matter how you want to conceive of it.
The other side spirit guides who have passed your pet cat, God, the universe, Buddha, whatever it is, however you conceive of some sort of energetic loving force that’s trying to help you onto your higher path, life gets so much more interesting. And I have to say, and coming to sort of understand the I Ching and its relationship with Carl Jung, Satya Doyle Byock and I will definitely be doing another workshop around the new year for the I Ching for our paid Substack followers. But that’s another great way to dialogue through numbers, signs, people you encounter, books that you read. There are a million ways to cut this pie, but it really does make life richer, more interesting, more full of curiosity. And honestly, you can’t be curious if you’re in fear. And so trying to consciously shift to curiosity can be, I think, one of the greatest antidotes to this moment that we find ourselves in when it feels awfully full of fear.
Can you get to curiosity instead? Alright, friends. Laura’s newest book is called Guided. It’s beautiful. It’s full of stories. I love hearing stories like the ones that she tells in the book, and if you haven’t read her other two, her first book is The Light Between Us. It’s a gorgeous book. And then her next book Signs has been sitting on the New York Times bestseller list for many, many, many, many weeks, and it is honestly the best gift to give someone who has suffered a loss or is going through something really terrible because it can really bring hope to people’s hearts. If you got something out of today’s episode, I would so appreciate your help spreading the word. Please rate and review the episode, follow pulling the thread on your preferred podcast platform, and share this episode with a friend who would also enjoy it. That’s how we grow this thing. It’s so helpful. Thank you.
