Richard, or Dick, Schwartz is the creator of Internal Family Systems. Many of you will be familiar with the therapeutic model of IFS and the idea that each of us has many parts within us. If you’re not familiar with IFS, no worries, Dick gives a quick breakdown in our conversation. And if you want to go deeper, I’ll link my other conversations with Dick, and more, in the show notes.
Thomas Hubl is a teacher and group facilitator whose work focuses in part on collective healing. I’ve talked to him several times on Pulling the Thread—he’s brilliant.
I was very excited when I heard that Dick and Thomas started collaborating with another. One result of that partnership is their new joint book, which is called Releasing Our Burdens: A Guide to Healing Individual, Ancestral, and Collective Trauma.
Not surprisingly, it’s excellent—and so, so helpful. I loved getting to talk to them about it, and to learn more of their tips and tools for making better use of our energy, our emotions, and our relationships.
