Many of you will be familiar with Satya by now as she’s been on Pulling the Thread a number of times (full list of episodes is below). She’s a Jungian psychotherapist and a good pal of mine. She wrote the book Quarterlife: The Search for Self in Early Adulthood.
We cover a lot of varied ground today, as we always do. But we’re focusing, in part, on the duality of individuation and community. We talk about the difference between individuation and individualism. And why it’s so critical for all of us to individuate—to go on our own individual journeys—so that we can genuinely be a part of the collective, and not just subject to herd mentality.
We also talk about our search for meaning, and why Satya encourages people to trust an irrational guide. And we talk about getting in touch with our daemons—which you can think of as an inner genius, a spark that wants to come through you.
