This is a pinch-me episode, as Naomi Klein is one of my heroes, and I was thrilled to welcome her and her brilliant co-author Astra Taylor on Pulling the Thread.

Naomi is an award-winning journalist and the New York Times bestselling author of Doppleganger, The Shock Doctrine, No Logo, On Fire, and many more hits.

Astra is likewise an award-winning writer, activist, and author, as well as a documentarian.

They teamed up to co-write End Times Fascism: And the Fight for the Living World. The book is out this week and it is a truly fascinating read, I believe, regardless of where you fall on the political spectrum.

It brings so many seemingly confusing threads together into a really clarifying picture, and it’s ultimately a hopeful argument for why it’s worth saving our special world.

This is a total thrill. Huge fan. And I devoured this book and I guess we'll start there with thank you because I'm sure you're hearing this as you take this book out into the world, but I knew that these things were somehow all related and yet it wasn't clear to me as I was holding the different strands that you guys weave together so adeptly how they're all conspiring towards one end. In some ways, you write at one point that end times fascists and all of their forms are building the arc theoretically, but they're also creating the flood, right? This weird self-fulfilling prophecy loop that we're all party to.
